Double Dark Shred Mulch

Double Dark Shred (also known as Dark Premium Shred) is the most popular mulch in Western PA. A finely textured, double-shredded bark mulch with a deep, all-natural dark brown color and a superior ability to suppress weeds. The double-shred process creates a denser mat that stays in place better than single-shred varieties, making it a great choice for sloped beds, foundation plantings, and high-visibility landscaping. Made from 100% natural hardwood bark (Maple, Cherry, Oak), double-shredded and screened. Free of chemicals, insects, and foreign matter. 100% ethically sourced and recycled. Retains moisture and breaks down gradually to enrich the soil. A go-to choice for Pittsburgh-area homeowners who want a clean, polished look without dye. Sold per cubic yard — 1 yard covers approximately 100 square feet at 3 inches deep.

Does not attract insects or harbor mold. For best results in hot weather, allow new mulch to sit 2–4 days before spreading, keep several inches away from grass and sensitive plants, and keep mulch away from plant stems. Avoid watering for 24 hours after application.
